Here’s a relevant point for the social networking and citizen journalism businesses in Calgary. Red Herring reports a film project that is using MySpace filmers as content sources.This raises a whole host of issues, of course, but it seems to be indicative of a trend that steers distributed, citizen-generated content into potentially-profitable channels. This is different from the YouTube phenomenon, where each small submission more-or-less stands on its own.
